In 2021, Jk Richards (Jasmine Richards) was the first student director at the Virginia Episcopal School in Lynchburg, Va. Not only did this begin a school tradition, whereby other students direct a play annually, but it introduced a new take on a bloody, ancient spectacle to students, faculty, family alike.

In an original adaptation of Agamemnon, curated from various translations, I brought a classical play to new heights.

Through this process of collaborating with my peers—many of whom were first time actors and designers—this project sparked my love for creative leadership and theatrical directing.
